1/1/11

A new year. I have never been one to make New Years resolutions. Mostly because the occasional times that I do, I end up being disappointed in myself. I guess I'm not good at making goals is what it comes down to. But....I would like to be. So, I guess this New Year I am just going to say that I would like to be better. In many things. So many things. But in an effort not to bore you with all the things that I feel as though I am a failure at, I will stick to one thing that I would like to be better at. Journal writing. I think journals can be fascinating. What an incredible thing it is to be able to write your thoughts down and share memories with those who may read it years later. I just want to be able to write down a few things a day, or memories of things we do as a family. I want my kids to know how I feel about life. About being a Mom. About how much I adore them. So......summing it all up, my New Years resolution for 2011 is to keep a journal. I would like to try this blogging thing out more. I like the idea of attaching pictures to memories. However, as soon as Stephen goes back to school, I may not have access to a computer every day or as much as I would like, so I do have an actual pen and paper journal that I will keep when I can't get on a computer. And I'm not going to say that I will write every day either. Because I don't want to disappoint myself. I will try to write a thought every day, but really, the goal is just to be better. And since my journal writing is pretty much nil right now, ANYthing will be better!
Well, that is the plan. Now, I must get to bed. Church changes to 9am tomorrow. I have been looking forward to it since we moved here. I don't like afternoon church. It takes up the whole day. But now that it is here, I am almost dreading getting up so early tomorrow....uughh. ah well, that is another thing I would like to be better at. Just be happy. Can't change it, why fuss. Get over it and move on......
This is me moving on.....Goodnight. And HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Happy Halloween

Seth as Zurg

Trevor as Buzz Lightyear

Alex as Woody

Danielle as Jessie

We went to the Church Halloween party on Saturday(23rd). We all had a great time! We always pick a theme for our family costumes and this year was....obviously..... Toy Story! Each of the kids loved their costumes. I made them all except the Buzz Lightyear. I was so excited that I just happen to have the cow material for Jessie and Woody! Seth even won the costume contest for his age group! I was pretty proud of that! We have one more party to go to this week for Bell School. We have decided not to go Trick or Treating on Sunday, But the Ward is having a Pot Luck Dinner after church, so that should be fun. AND, the kids have SOOOO much candy already from the trunk or treat...I can't imagine getting more!

Moving

Why not Minot??? Good Question. We will be moving to Minot, North Dakota on June 24th. It is going to be hard to leave Idaho, the mountains, my family, my house, my garden..... I am living on nothing but faith right now. I will go where you want me to go Dear Lord..... Well, its a pretty song anyway.
I am mostly excited about living in the same State as my Husband. I am not cut out to be a single mother and I have nothing but respect for those who are single parents.
Anyhow, it will be an adventure that is coming whether I am ready or not. So, Why not Minot?? I don't know yet, but I'm about to find out!!

Danielle Marie

My sweet Danielle Marie. She is such a joy to have. I love her toothy smile and her pretty red curls.

Alexander has really been such a good boy lately. He really loves his "baby sis." and wants to hold her all the time. Which is good and bad because he sometimes tries to "hug" her a little to hard!

Weekend in McCall

This weekend we went to McCall to go huckleberry picking with the Nay family! We didn't find a whole lot--only about a cup. But that is more than enough for Uncle KC to make us some yummy Peach Huckleberry Cobbler in his dutch oven--It is still cooking right now and it smells good!

Besides Seth being a little sick, the kids have been playing their hearts out and don't ever want to leave. My boys love thier cousins and I appreciate Kamron and Bethy playing with all of them. They love being at Crystals house.

We always have fun when we come to McCall. (well, almost).

Now we get to go home to the laundry and dishes and mess that is waiting......Yep, McCall is much more fun.
